Global material and spiritual poverty by the numbers:
- over half of the world’s population lives on less than $2.50/day
- if we make $50,000/year or more, we are part of the wealthiest 1% of the world’s population
- over half (75-80% by some estimates) of the world’s Muslims will never meet a Christian in their lifetime (much less hear a culturally-sensitive presentation of the gospel in their own language)
- 236 large people groups (of 100,000 or more each) in the world are unreached with no known effort on any human’s part to engage them with the gospel
So, based on those figures… Jesus, who is my neighbor?
Thank you to Rev. Dr. Dan Burns, for the stats and food for thought.
